Ingredients

NOTE: Use these ingredients in the order given, to keep it all straight, as some things are used m
ore than once throughout the recipe.
For the Cake
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 Tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 2 Tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup milk
- 4 envelopes Nestle's Choco-Bake® (or make a very
thick chocolate sauce, by mixing 4 ounces extra-dark
chocolate chips and 3 Tablespoons butter, thinned
with 1 tablespoon cream, melt carefully in microwave.

- 1 teaspoon vanilla
For the Frosting
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- Remove from heat. Blend in 2 envelopes Nestle's Choco-Bake® (or use two ounces thick dark chocolate sauce. --Ed.)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups confectionary sugar.

Directions

For the Cake
- Grease and flour a 9 x13 x2 inch baking pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Combine in a bowl the cream cheese, sugar and butter. Beat until creamy.
- Add the next three ingredients (egg, milk, vanilla) and beat until smooth, set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, stir together the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt).
- Add the milk and softened butter, mixing well, then beat for one and one half minutes.
- Add the eggs, additional milk, liquid chocolate, and butter. Mix well.
- Spread half of this batter in pan. Spoon cream cheese mixture over batter, spreading to cover. Top with remaining batter.
- Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 50-60 minutes. Cool thoroughly, frost.
For the Frosting
- Using a saucepan, boil the milk and butter and remove from heat. Do not over-cook!
- Blend in the thick chocolate sauce, add vanilla.
- Stir in confectionary sugar mix well, to get frosting consistency, but you may thin with a few drops of milk if desired.
- Frost cake.
