The April 99 Puzzle

Chocoholic.com and other local businesses have set up a game room for use by kids who belong to neighborhood clubs. A volunteer from each of the companies supervises the game room and each has come up with a challenge which the kids must respond to correctly, to be allowed in.

From the following clues determine who is supervising the game room on which day, what their challenge is and what the correct response is.

  • On Wednesdays kids are not greeted with "What will it be?".

  • Tuesday's response is "Fill er up" and Thursday's was made up by Irene.

  • One of the women came up with the challenge "Who's knocking".

  • The right response to Paul's challenge is "Fresh red herring"; this is the response in use the day before the challenge "Make my day", which was picked by one of the women.

  • "Violets are blue" is Friday's challenge, and the right response is not "Two for none".

  • When a supervisor says "No one is here" the reply should be "Ants in the pantry"; this was not the combination chosen by Ralph.

Here are the things you need to match.

Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Supervisors: Dave, Paul, Janet, Irene, Ralph

Challenge: What will it be, Make my day, No one is here, Who's knocking, Violets are blue

Response: Fresh red herring, Fill er up, Ants in the pantry, Two for none, My Yellow submarine

Finished? Email us the answers, along with your name, address and phone number.

Each person who submits the correct answer will be entered in the drawing for the April chocolate prize. The winner will be selected at the the beginning of May. In order to send the winner his/her prize, please submit your address along with your answer.
