The April 98 Puzzle

A number of chocoholics got together to help each other reduce their addiction to those small candy covered chocolates (we won't mention them by name). They were not trying to stop eating their favorite snack merely reduce their consumption.

Using the following clues work out each persons full name, the number of candies they used to eat daily and the number they managed to reduce down to.

  • The person who now eats the least used to eat more than Francis Towne, but fewer than Norm who did not eat the most of the five.

  • Sally has cut down by more than Burke, but not to as small a number, neither of them used to eat 140 a day.

  • Helen used to eat 20 fewer than Smith, while Lint now eats 10 more than Helen but 10 fewer than Francis.

  • Mee has cut down by exactly half, nobody has cut down by exactly 20 and the greatest reduction achieved was 80 per day.

First Name: Francis, Helen, Norm, Phil, Sally
